Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 March 2026
By using Payhook — as a seller or a buyer — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the platform.
Payhook ("platform", "we", "us") is an API-first digital product storefront. These terms govern your use of getpayhook.com and related services.
1. The platform
Payhook provides tools for sellers to list and sell digital products, and for buyers to purchase and receive those products. We are not party to the sale itself — we provide the infrastructure. Sellers are responsible for the products they list. We take 0% platform fees; Stripe's standard processing fees apply.
2. Seller responsibilities
- You must own or have the right to sell any product you list.
- Products must be legal in the jurisdictions where you sell them.
- You are responsible for accurate product descriptions and pricing.
- You are responsible for handling any customer disputes regarding your products.
- You must comply with applicable tax laws in your jurisdiction. Payhook does not calculate or remit tax on your behalf.
- You must not sell counterfeit goods, stolen content, or harmful software.
3. Buyer purchases
When you purchase a digital product through Payhook, you are buying directly from the seller. Payhook facilitates the transaction but does not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or fitness for purpose of any product.
4. Refund policy
All sales of digital products are final by default. Because digital files can be downloaded immediately after purchase, we cannot enforce refunds on behalf of buyers.
Sellers may choose to offer refunds at their discretion. If you believe a product was misrepresented or fraudulent, contact us at support@getpayhook.com and we will investigate.
5. Download delivery
Download links are emailed to buyers after payment confirmation. Links expire 24 hours after issue. If your link has expired, contact the seller directly. Payhook is not responsible for delivery failures caused by incorrect email addresses or spam filters.
6. API access
Sellers receive an API key upon registration. You may use the API to query your products, sales, and revenue data. You may not use the API to:
- Scrape or harvest data from other sellers.
- Circumvent checkout or payment flows.
- Automate actions that violate these terms.
- Resell API access to third parties.
We may rate-limit or revoke API access without notice if abuse is detected.
7. Webhooks
Webhook delivery is best-effort. We will retry failed deliveries up to 3 times. We are not liable for missed webhook events caused by your server being unavailable. Critical business logic should not rely solely on webhooks — use our API to verify purchase state.
8. Account termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in fraud, or use the platform in a way that harms other users. You may close your account at any time by contacting support@getpayhook.com. Existing transaction records are retained for legal compliance.
9. Liability
Payhook is provided "as is". We make no warranties about uptime, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, given our 0% fee model, may be £0).
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in English courts.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated by email with 14 days' notice. Continuing to use the platform after that period constitutes acceptance.
